Christian mourners, police clash in Egypt

CAIRO (AP) ? Several hundred Christians are clashing with police and a rock-throwing crowd outside Egypt's main Coptic Orthodox cathedral in Cairo after a funeral for four Christians killed in sectarian violence.

Sunday's clashes began after gunfire erupted outside the cathedral. The funeral service quickly turned into a rally against Islamist President Mohammed Morsi and his Muslim Brotherhood party.

Police fired tear gas to disperse the Christians, who also battled an unidentified group of men throwing rocks.

Denouncing Morsi, the mourners chanted "Leave!" and "This is our country, we will not leave."

Coptic Christians make up about 10 percent of Egypt's estimated 90 million people. They have long complained of discrimination.

The four Christians and a Muslim died in violence on Saturday in a town north of Cairo.
